(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — According to several reports published last week, the stock exchange NYSE Euronext is looking to broaden its horizons by offering up some of the capacity in its Mahwah, New Jersey data center as colocation space.
A Wall Street and Tech report from December traces back a couple of SEC filings by NYSE Arca looking to expand the scope of colocation users in the facility to include vendors, in addition to the electronic trading permit holders and sponsored users that currently use the service.
According to the filing, the exchange would charge these vendors – which could provide “hosting,” among other services – $ 500 per month, per end user of their own services. The vendor, it seems, would set its own prices for the services it provides those customers, but would pay the $ 500 to NYSE.
