Nitobi Inc. announced today that a complete UI – its popular line of Ajax-based user interface components – are including all the server code and Dreamweaver Extensions now available for free under the MIT open source license.
While
Complete UI components were first disclosed in 2009, based on today. Net and Java Server libraries and Dreamweaver extensions, which were previously closed code are also free. Complete UI components, server code, and Dreamweaver Extensions are publicly available at GitHub http://github.com/nitobi/completeui.
Complete UI is a suite of components for the development of Ajax-based Web user interfaces. Complete UI off-the-shelf components save developers at the time and trouble of setting up its own UI interactions from scratch. Nitobi components have been popular web developer Nitobi Grid and ComboBox started in 2005. Adobe Dreamweaver extensions, first launched in 2007 to ensure that every web developer add up to sophisticated user interactions with a fast and intuitive WYSIWYG editor.

The Complete UI suite includes:
Grid – A cross-browser spreadsheet with Excel “copy / paste, LiveScrolling and more.
TreeGrid – A hierarchical network component.
ComboBox – A drop-down menu with autocomplete functionality, similar to Google Suggest.
Calendar – A high-performance calendar picker that can be used with Nitobi Grid or in standalone web applications.
Legend – A rich, skinnable tool-tip, providing users with real-time feedback and helpful hints on how to navigate through a calling application.
Fisheye – A tool bar menu with a fisheye magnification, similar to Apple OS X tool bar.
Spotlight – A tool for creating stylish guided tours of websites and applications.
Tabstrip – Folder tabs for navigating to different sections of a web application via Ajax or iFrame requests.
Tree – A hierarchical data view, similar to the folder view in Windows Explorer.
Ajax Toolkit – A library of fully documented tools used in Nitobi components can be reused in your own applications or to create your own components.
Today’s release also includes various bug fixes and new features in the Grid and Tree components include: Show / Hide columns, drag and drop columns, multi-line-wrap set to head and screen, enhanced toolbars with the show / hide and drag / drop icons and advanced pagination controls. Developers can also easily the number of grid lines on each side.
The Complete UI suite is platform independent and works with a variety of development frameworks such as Java, PHP, ASP.Net, ASP and ColdFusion Classic.
