The new leadership DNS API, is part of DiscountASP.NET ‘S Control Panel Initiative, which aims to provide customers with maximum control over their hosting presence management.Earlier DiscountASP.NET introduced a Web service ASP.NET API library, which customers can use to develop their own web, desktop or mobile applications that interface directly with their web hosting account management. For many years, DiscountASP.NET exposed methods to obtain information on resource use, recycle application pools, and backup SQL Server 2008 and SQL Server 2005 databases. Today, DiscountASP.NET provides methods for clients to retrieve, add and delete DNS, CNAME, MX and TXT records.
DiscountASP.NET customers can activate access to the API library via their web hosting control panel and assigned a unique Authentication Key. Sandbox Key is also provided, so customers can test their applications without the risk of changes to their hosting provider.
