We blogged about how Facebook acquired FB.COM in November 2010. Yet again it seems like more details are starting to emerge about the price paid for the domain name. According to reliable news sources on the internet, the seller of the domain name American Farm Bureau told shareholders in a recent annual general meeting in Atlanta that “the organization earned $ 8.5 million by selling a couple of domain names but is barred from identifying the buyer.” So the cat is out of the bag finally! I think this is an outlier because there is no known two character dot com sold above that price. It sends a strong point that end-users will always be willing to pay big buck for premium domain names. Have a nice weekend folks!
