In this tutorial I show you how to install joomla! 1.5 on a MAMP server in OSX 10.6 1. Download joomla www.joomla.org 2. Move directory into htdocs 3. Create database in phpmyadmin 4. Browse to the folder through a web browser 5. Follow instructions 6. Delete installation folder 7. Enjoy! DEFAULT ADMIN PASSWORD IS ALWAYS admin

    Same here… Some errors occurred while populating the database: Table ‘Gabriel1.jos_extensions’ doesn’t exist SQL=INSERT INTO `jos_extensions` (`extension_id`, `name`, `type`, `element`, `folder`, `client_id`, `enabled`, `access`, `protected`, `manifest_cache`, `params`, `custom_data`, `system_data`, `checked_out`, `checked_out_time`, `ordering`, `state`) VALUES (600, ‘English (United Kingdom)’, ‘language’, ‘en-GB’, ”, 0, 1, 1, 1, ”, ”, ”, ”, 0, ‘0000-00-00 00:00:0 etc… etc…

    Thanks for the tutorial! However, when installation folder is removed and I go to Site or Administrator the results are only a blank page. I was looking forward to something more :-). Any help is appreciated! -Henrik

    I had same problem, but when you open mamp in your applications before pressing the open start page hit “preferences…” then press the “apache” tab then press select and find where your joomla folder that was unzipped from your download then press ok. The apache server and MySQL server will refresh, then open the start page and go to localhost:8888 without the mamp
