SSL Certificate Authority GlobalSign Launches CloudSSL Product
(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — SSL certificate authority GlobalSign (www.globalsign.com) announced on Thursday that it has introduced a new SSL product designed to help cloud service providers enable SSL in cloud environments, calling that product CloudSSL.
The company says the product enables service providers to access multi-domain SSL certificates with the ability to add and remove dozens of fully qualified domain names per certificate. End users use an approval email or URL to approve the use of SSL on their domain, and the cloud provider manages the lifecycle and the administration of the certificate.
GlobalSign says the new model supports the flexible nature of utility computing, and can be applied the short-term billing cycles and erratic usage that characterize cloud products.
