Virtual Private server vs dedicated server
article about Dwspriyanka
Virtual Private Servers allow hardware runs at a relatively high recovery rates. They have lower energy costs compared to a single physical server (as in the case of the Dedicated Server), and are therefore cheaper. Maintenance of virtual private servers or VPS are more expensive but, because it is difficult to patch all virtual servers that are running different operating systems on different physical servers, which need separate maintenance. Maintenance of the major operating systems should be implemented without delay to the time needed for maintenance as low as possible.Creating a backup any software is quite difficult. In the case of VPS providers, security issues are a bit complicated compared to a dedicated server provider. Security can be collapsed into two layers, the physical security of servers and VPS security. Also tracking PSD is a bit harder than dedicated server monitoring. VPS requires usually more expensive drivers like multi-port network adapters, and other physical connections when compared to a dedicated server. Using multiple Ethernet cables and network devices such as routers and switches can also post some management problems. VPS providers usually need more IP addresses than dedicated providers. Physical system that runs largely VPS can have a huge amount of packets per second over the network. It is difficult to handle a large number of IP addresses, MAC addresses, etc.
VPS also offers the advantages of licensing software as some software licenses are based on the number of physical processors, and so can be cheaper when the price distribution of VPS on one physical processor . VPS Power were also quite good these days, with less than 5% overhead on modern software such as Virtuozzo. However, the disk input / output some obstacles because of increased disk fragmentation.
