I am a newbie. I have to say that your teaching technique is great! Thank you so much. One question (ignorant) . I really like using ConTEXT and using both PHP and SQL at the same time. I just don’t understand how you run the statements from the Easy PHP interface? I don’t believe you cover that anywhere.

@PartyDoffy Wel, basicly it’s like this mysql_connect(“hostname server”, “MySQL username”, “MySQL password”)

If you store the file .php file where you connect to the database directly on the server where also the MySQL server is installed you will always need localhost, you’ll only need to specify the hostname when you want to connect to a remote server.

The username and password you need are the same as the one you use to log in to PhpMyAdmin.

i dont understand that (“localhost”,”root”,””) thing.. i understand it but i dont really know what to type there because i got my server from one com
how do i find out what to type there?
