@CarlaPJewel I don’t add a password because its an offline server, and my MySQL works fine. So it’s up to you if you wanted too. Your Welcome and Best of Luck 🙂
@Timzy921
I changed the password and I am still getting this message: “Your configuration file contains settings (root with no password) that correspond to the default MySQL privileged account. Your MySQL server is running with this default, is open to intrusion, and you really should fix this security hole by setting a password for user ‘root’.”
So, do I have to put in the password each time I start PHPAdmin?
@CarlaPJewel Just turn off skype before you start xampp, that’s what I do then I just startup skype after I started xampp BTW it mite make xampp lag a bit.
@CarlaPJewel Port 80 is what Apache uses which runs PHP, and MySQL so if use a program like Skype, and you run your apache it can cause a problem in starting xampp.
Thank you so much for helping me get started, because I am a beginner and did not know how to start phpAdmin. However, I got this message during installation: “Ports 80 or 443 (SSL) already in use! Installing Apache2.2 service failed!”
However, it still worked. I do not know what that message meant, but I am inside phpAdmin.
@Timzy921 After I type in ‘root’ and then the password to access phpMyAdmin, it then says that it can’t connect to the database and that the access is denied. 🙁
I’m trying to access files to fix a problem on my wordpress site since I am unable to access the admin path anymore. But if I’m confusing you (because I am not savvy at all), thx for the help.
Alright nevermind I disabled Skype and it’s working fine now! So thx! Is there a way to connect phpmyadmin to a database I’ve already created for a website I have made?

@4KTScotty do you mean like a database and tables to your website? if so you have to use mysql_connect(‘localhost’,’root’,”) something like that…

Really? Because yea I do use skype so I should turn it off? Whenever I click Apache the admin button comes up and then goes right back out.
